The DMES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a school-based organization that is dedicated to making DMES the best possible place for our students, parents, and teachers. Volunteering parents work in conjunction with DMES faculty to host special events and to raise funds to support our school activities. The organization meets on a monthly basis as indicated by our school calendar.

Parents volunteering ten hours are invited to participate in our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. To learn more, please contact via email Adena McDaniel. As with anyone who comes in contact with our students, volunteers must be cleared via a background check. This is done at no cost to the potential volunteer and every effort will be made to keep the process and results confidential.

We are incredibly grateful for the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who give their time each year to support our students and schools. To help ensure the safety of all children, District 7 has implemented a new volunteer screening process for the 2026–2027 school year. All individuals wishing to volunteer in any capacity — including field trip chaperones — must now complete the District Seven Volunteer Interest Form and receive district clearance before volunteering at any school or center. After submitting the form to your school, you’ll receive a link and access code to complete a required background check (District 7 covers the cost). Once the process is complete, both you and the school will be notified of your clearance. Volunteer approval remains valid for one year. This new process is fully online and may take up to two weeks, so we encourage early submission for anyone planning to volunteer. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our students!
